Over 35 Years Experience in Multiple Areas of Health Care
Prior to owning and operating his own successful HME company,
Floyd worked as a branch manager for a large national HME
company. As branch manager, he was responsible for the survey
preparation and successful accreditation of his branch office
through JCAHO and CHAP.
Floyd's HME specific experience spans over 21 years and
includes specializations in:
- Respiratory Care,
- Home Medical Equipment,
- Rehab Technology, and
- Fitter Services.
Other previous health care professional experience includes:
Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal experience at NC Baptist Hospital,
Winston-Salem, NC; Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC;
Baptist Medical Center; Jacksonville, FL; and Bladen County
Hospital, Elizabethtown, NC.
Floyd's experience also includes 8 years in Respiratory
Care Education as an Instructor and Program director at
Forsyth Technical College, Winston-Salem, NC; and as an
adjunct instructor at Jacksonville Junior College, Jacksonville,
FL; and Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA.
Floyd has
over 12 years of experience as Director of Hospital Respiratory
Care Departments at Moses Cone Hospital, Baptist Medical
Center, and Bladen County Hospital.
He has been involved extensively in state and national
Respiratory Care associations and HME associations. Floyd
is a member of the American Association for Respiratory Care
and the North Carolina Society for Respiratory Care.
Floyd is currently the Executive Director of the Board for
the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board. He has served
from July 2000 to July 2002 as one of its board members and
also as Chairman of the board.
He is also currently a Surveyor and Clinical Consultant for
the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). In his
duties as a Clinical Consultant he writes standards, data
collection material and articles as well as answering questions
from companies preparing for survey. Floyd is also a distinguished
member of ACHC's Standards Review Committee and Survey Review
Committee.
Floyd Has Been Perfecting His Accreditation Manuals for Many Years
Floyd initially created his "HME Accreditation Simplified!™" policy and procedure manual back in 1997
to provide a much needed tool to help HME companies attain accreditation.
Since its introduction, this policy and procedure manual has become an established accreditation tool in the industry
and has undergone refinements for many years based on customer feedback and industry use.
This manual has been continually updated from the beginning and today
consistently meets CMS industry standards and all CMS approved accreditation agency standards.
